Job Overview

The Box Former sets up the Delkor to run correct boxes and/or lids.

Job Responsibilities

• Brings out boxes from Film Room.
• Break down cardboard boxes.
  o 5 lb box: 3 to 4 pallets a day.
  o 2 lb box: 2 to 3 pallets a day.  Fill glue can as needed (45 lb box).
• Fill glue pot when needed (half pound per time).
• Sweep the floor when needed.
• Make sure boxes are properly glued.
• Troubleshoots problems and corrects.
• Communicates with line people and other Line 10 Operators.
• Helps out in the Palletizer area (palletizes, projects, etc.).  
• Loads boxes into DELKOR and watches box levels
  o 5 lb lid every 5min.; 2 lbs per hand full at 38ppm.
  o 2 lb lid every 5min.; 2 lbs per hand full at 43ppm
• Helps out on the line when needed.
• Able to do all requirements safely and promptly. Is familiar with and follows all safety rules.
• Uses prescribed tools in the manner in which they were intended.
• Make adjustments to machine as needed.
• Complete duties before leaving at the end of shift. Work area is clean and stocked with any necessary supplies ready for the next shift.
• Communicates with the next operator at the shift change.
• Performs any other standard operating procedures not listed here but applies to their position.
• Carries out assigned projects/duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor.
• Follows GMP’s
• Fills out all paperwork completely and correctly including name, production line number and products ran.  All documentation is very important and will be accurate and legible.  All documentation is very important and will be accurate and legible.

• Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

Required Education and Experience

  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to attain a forklift certification. 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Previous factory production or machine operation experience.
     

Working Conditions

• Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.
• Ability to frequently handle material from floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder and pushing/pulling/carrying.
• Product weight: up to 50 lbs.
• Hair nets, ear plugs/muffs, hardhats, and/or safety glasses may be required.
• Repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment with average temperature of 50-60 degrees F.
• Use of motor skills to safely drive tow motors or other motorized vehicles in tight quarters.
