Job Overview

The Specialist, Payroll provides support to the payroll function by assisting with weekly processing activities, maintaining employee records, and generating routine payroll reports.

Job Responsibilities

  • Enters and maintains routine payroll and timekeeping information within the payroll system, including base pay rates, bonuses, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions, withholdings, garnishments and other information.
  • Process payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and employee elections.
  • Reviews payroll information for completeness and accuracy, reporting discrepancies as necessary.
  • Assist with wage garnishment administration as instructed.
  • Supports year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and distribution.
  • Reconciles payroll deposits and 401(K) records to the general ledger weekly.
  • Processes replacement check and direct deposit requests resulting from payroll corrections or adjustments.
  • Records and processes reporting of federal and state payroll tax deposits.
  • Processes purchase orders for Human Resources department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding or ability to learn and navigate payroll and timekeeping systems while following established procedures.
  • Willingness to learn, develop, adapt, and support the business as needed.
  • Must be legally authorized to work for a company in the United Stated without sponsorship.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 0-2 years of relevant Human Resources or finance experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP.
  • General understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to multi-task, troubleshoot and problem solve basic or routine issues.
  • Experience with SuccessFactors and/or SAP.
  • Experience with time keeping systems, such as Kronos or WFS.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in an office setting.
• Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35ºF to 100ºF; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
