Job Overview
The Senior Specialist, Communications will play a critical role on a dynamic team, supporting internal and external communication efforts across the organization. This individual will lead initiatives that elevate our brand, engage our employees, and support business priorities through thoughtful messaging, creative design, and seamless execution. This role requires a strong foundation in marketing and communications, with the ability to balance strategy and execution. A background in design is essential, as is the ability to collaborate with an external brand partner.
Job Responsibilities
Brand Management
- Maintain consistency across all materials and platforms by managing our house brand guidelines, assets, and templates.
- Manage promotional items on behalf of the company, adhering to formalized process for tracking usage and spend.
- Lead the design and development of branded materials, including presentations, flyers, signage, digital assets, and internal campaigns, independently and in collaboration with our brand agency.
Internal Communications
- Develop and deliver clear, engaging communication materials that support employee engagement, company updates, ownership culture, and site-specific initiatives.
- Support the Board of Directors and Management Team with various needs such as event support, travel arrangements, etc.
- Help with logistics and planning of company events such as National Business Meeting and other employee engagement events.
- Manage various employee engagement programs and award recognition initiatives.
- Assist in the development of company communications such as organizational announcements, total rewards updates, etc.
External Communications
- Implement and manage monthly social media calendars, postings and metric tracking.
- Support Human resources in promoting hiring needs, job fairs, etc.
- Coordinate updates to the website and internal communication channels as needed.
- Partner with sales to develop customer-facing sales collateral.
- Publish ads in local and industry publications.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
- 2 years of experience in marketing and/or communications roles.
- Demonstrated experience with design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, PowerPoint).
- Experience working with a brand agency or external creative partner.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for site support, events, or trade shows.
Preferred Education and Experience
- 2-4 years of experience preferred.
- Background in graphic design.
- Track record of creating and implementing successful communication strategies and campaigns.
- Background in working cross-functionally with departments and for a manufacturing company.
