Job Overview

The Senior Analyst, Category Insights provides valuable insights for our Sales Team by collecting and analyzing product, marketing, and customer specific data relating to product category or brand performance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain, monitor, mine syndicated and internal data sources acting as the main point of contact with data suppliers.  
  • Generate reporting to track Total US Retail Dairy and Private Label POS trends to create meaningful insights across Product, Price, and Promotion to deliver best in class market insights.
  • Deliver insights driven data to Sales to support customer relationships and opportunity vetting.
  • Generate product reporting and insights to enhance product lifecycle management.
  • Communicate insights and recommendations via impactful content to provide recommendations to internal partners to drive productivity of our customer’s assortments.
  • Support Manager, Category Insights in creating best-in-class category reviews for customers.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance reporting and insight capabilities to support company and customers business goals.   
  • Communicate insights in a clear, concise, and simple to understand manner that allow key stakeholders to quickly grasp the issue and set appropriate strategies.
  • Effectively deliver the insights across a variety of formats as needed to tell the story to the given audience (verbal, email, spreadsheets, charts and presentations).

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field.
  • 2+ years of category analysis experience using both quantitative and qualitative methods.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts and issues to different audiences. 
  • Strong analytical skills with experience developing insights and recommendations. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.  
  • Ability to make sound, independent decisions. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and an expert in Excel-Pivot Tables, Vlook-ups, Formulas, Macros etc. 
  • Experience with data mining Nielsen and IRI. 
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with coworkers, data suppliers, and customers.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, trouble shoot, and problem solve.  
  • Ability to travel on occasion up to 20%.    
  • Must be legally authorized to work for a company in the United States without sponsorship.
     

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 2-4 years of experience preferred.
  • Master’s degree.
  • Food industry or CPG experience. 
     

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in an office setting.
• Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35ºF to 100ºF; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
