Job Overview

The SAP Functional Analyst is responsible for Warehouse Management functionality within SAP, associated applications and tools.  They are also responsible for Inventory Management and related functions.  The Analyst will gathering business requirements and design, develop, implement, and support SAP (and related applications) process solutions with a focus on warehousing and associated functions (receiving, inventory, etc).

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide business system analysis and process design expertise within the warehousing business function, and turn requirements into system solutions.
  • Provide system and business process leadership for Inventory Management (IM) and related functions.
  • Perform SAP or other business application configuration as required to support functional requirements.
  • Partner with warehouse leadership, warehouse management, and warehouse operators.
  • Develop detailed functional specifications and work closely with ABAP Developers or software solutions vendors as needed.
  • Participating in testing activities including, but not limited to, creating test scenarios, cases and scripts, as well as executing unit testing, integration testing, regression testing and user acceptance testing.
  • Manage and control implementation of changes without business interruption.
  • Document current configuration and maintain proper level of documentation for all changes including specifications and testing documentation.
  • Work with infrastructure resources to identify, deploy, and support mobile solutions, warehouse RF functionality or similar technology, as needed.
  • Participate and take a leading role including as a project manager if necessary within area of expertise of assigned SAP modules.
  • Managing tasks through all project lifecycle phases (Requirements Gathering and Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Deployment and Support) for IT initiatives.
  • Lead internal and external teams during project within your area to achieve promised results.
  • Interact with material suppliers on labeling requirements, business documentation needs and issues.
  • Providing application maintenance and support by means of timely response to user issues and requests.
  • Manage and control implementation of changes without business interruption.
  • Collaborating with other team members to design and deploy effective IT solutions.
  • Ensuring stability and continuity in IT operations.

Required Education and Experience

  • B.A./B.S. degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business or related field. 
  • 5+ years of IT experience in a corporate environment supporting SAP systems.
  • Expert knowledge of SAP WM and EWM.
  • Extensive functional understanding of warehousing best practices, and an ability to implement them in software solutions
  • Hands-on experience in core SAP WMS areas: warehouse & bin configuration, putaway and picking strategies, cycle count procedure, cycle count adjustments, wave picking, Kanban setup, production interface with WM, interim storage areas, physical inventory, output configuration, storage unit management.
  • Experience with SAP Inventory Management (IM) and inventory best practices.
  • Understanding of integration and relationship between SAP modules, especially as they relate to warehouse management.
  • SAP or other Warehouse Management System full lifecycle implementation.
  • Strong teamwork approach to problem solving with the ability to make sound, independent decisions based on functional expertise and experience.  
  • Ability to provide leadership, support, communication and direction.  
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve beyond routine issues. 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • In-depth understanding of SAP functional modules beyond EWM/WM/IM
  • Knowledge of PP/PPPI and relationships to EWM/WM/IM
  • Business experience within a Food/Beverage Manufacturing and Distribution environment, highly desired
  • PMP certification

Working Conditions

• Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35ºF to 100ºF; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
• Work is performed in an office setting.
