Job Overview

The Principal Analyst – Warehouse Management is responsible for leading teams in gathering business requirements, designing, developing, and implementing new functionality. Support existing SAP solutions and related enterprise software. Overall responsibility for Warehouse Management and related Inventory Management functionality within SAP and associated applications and tools.  

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP EWM solutions tailored to enterprise needs.
  • Analyze complex business issues, balancing the often-competing need for innovation and standardization/process harmonization, to develop and consult on business solutions.
  • Integrate SAP EWM with the other modules in the SAP such as SD, PP, QM, and with 3rd party systems.
    Take a leading role in business application deployment projects; serve as SAP strategic contributor within area of specialty of assigned SAP modules.
  • Lead internal and external teams of cross functional resources during the project to achieve the results and manage the deliverables.
  • Manage and control the implementation of changes without business interruption.
  • Manage tasks through all project lifecycle phases (Requirements Gathering and Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Deployment and Support) for IT initiatives.
  • Consult with Business Process Owners to ensure business process design and supporting SAP configuration and developments are in line with the business needs.
  • Documenting current configuration and maintaining proper level of documentation for all changes including specifications and testing documentation.
  • Gather requirements from business partners, research, strategize, and propose short and long term solutions utilizing SAP or other enterprise applications.
  • Write functional and technical specification, resolve critical application development issues, develop and deliver training material.
  • Drive the creation and execution of test scripts.
  • Execute post implementation reviews to measure actual deliverables vs. requirements.
  • Support existing solutions for break-fix issues and continuous process improvement to improve functional solution and business process.
  • Collaborating with other team members to design and deploy effective and strategic IT solutions.
  • Ensuring stability and continuity in IT operations.
  • Model and reinforce established team standards and processes, serving as an informal leader to elevate the quality and consistency of work across the analyst group.

Required Education and Experience

  • B.A./B.S. degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 6 years of IT experience in a corporate environment supporting SAP projects.
  • Proficiency in SAP S4 HANA, EWM configuration (inbound, outbound, transfers, RF framework, Value Added Services, LOSC/POSC, handling unit management, kitting, Material Flow Systems)
  • Advanced knowledge of SAP IM, WM and EWM.
  • Extensive functional understanding of warehousing best practices, and an ability to implement them in software solutions
  • Strong cross functional understanding of SAP modules.
  • Strong teamwork approach to problem solving with the ability to make sound, independent decisions based on functional expertise and experience.  
  • Ability to provide leadership, support, communication and direction.  
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve beyond routine issues.  

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 8 to 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Decentralized EWM implementation with S4 HANA.
  • Ability to read ABAP code and debug in SAP S/4 HANA.
  • Master’s degree.
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience as a People Manager.

Working Conditions

• Work is mainly performed in an office setting, with some time spent in a manufacturing environment
• Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35ºF to 100ºF; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
