Job Overview

The Demand Planner will coordinate, create and oversee the sales and operations planning (S&OP) process at Great Lakes Cheese.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining the demand planning model for the business
  • Work with sales, marketing and finance to manage the monthly consensus sales forecast and participate in other S&OP processes
  • Use customer and market insights to enrich statistical forecast
  • Forecast and track new and discontinued items through life cycle management processes
  • Facilitate the transition to new planning systems and software
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional projects to support new initiatives
  • Work with IT to develop reports and data gathering methods
  • All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures

  • Other duties as assigned by the manager.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of demand planning experience.
  • Strong math aptitude and quantitative problem solving approach.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite ability including: Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency with one or more demand planning software solutions.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional projects.
  • Understanding of Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
  • Ability and passion to learn and master supply chain software.
  • Ability to frame opportunities in a clear, concise and logical manner.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot, problem solve and meet deadlines.
  • General understanding of Supply Chain and Logistics processes.
  • Must be legally authorized to work for a company in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Degree concentration in Supply Chain or related field.
• Demand Planning software experience.
• Business reporting/data gathering software experience.
• SAP experience.
• Quantitative Excel modeling experience.
• Project management skills and experience.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in an office setting.
• Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35ºF to 100ºF; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
