Demand Forecasting Analyst

Job Overview

The Demand Forecasting Analyst will coordinate, create and oversee the consensus forecasting activities as part of the sales and operations planning (S&OP) process at Great Lakes Cheese.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development and execution of statistical baseline forecast for the business.
  • Identify and calculate possible impactors that influence the statistical baseline.
  • Use customer and market insights to enrich statistical forecasts.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and finance to manage the monthly consensus sales forecast and participate in other S&OP processes.
  • Forecast and track new and discontinued items through life cycle management processes.
  • Facilitate the transition to new planning systems and software.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional projects to support new initiatives.
  • Work with IT to develop reports and data gathering methods.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Strong math aptitude and quantitative problem-solving approach.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite ability including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to frame opportunities in a clear, concise, and logical manner.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot, problem solve and meet deadlines.
  • Must be legally authorized to work for a company in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master’s Degree/ MBA with an emphasis in Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience in data analytics/statistical software, (SAS, Mini tab, etc.)
  • Quantitative data modeling experience.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in an office setting.
• Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35ºF to 100ºF; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
