Job Responsibilities
- Assist in stabilizing and optimizing cheese-making methods and processes.
- Conduct process optimization analysis to identify areas for improvement in cheese manufacturing processes.
- Conduct cheese yield analysis to optimize production efficiency and minimize waste.
- Gain an understanding of milk composition, cheese-making techniques, membrane systems, and protein science.
- Collect and analyze production data from cheese-making and whey-processing operations.
- Observe and document production processes to identify potential areas for improvement.
- Perform downtime analysis to assess and mitigate potential disruptions in production.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA) and production teams to enhance product quality and process efficiency.
- Perform laboratory analysis and combine lab data with production data to draw meaningful
conclusions and recommendations. - Support R&D projects related to cheese technology and process innovation.
- Define the best functionality of cheese for shred cheese application, considering factors like texture, meltability, and flavor.
- Assist in developing and testing new cheese manufacturing technologies and processes.
- Support quality control efforts by conducting regular audits and inspections of cheese production processes.
- All GLC interns are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures.
- All GLC interns are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
Required Education and Experience
- Actively enrolled in Bachelors/Masters degree in Food Science, Food Engineering or related field.
- Sophomore level and above.
- Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
Preferred Education and Experience
- Problem solving skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication, presentation, and team skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Self-motivated with a high level of initiative, able to work well independently.
