Job Overview

Build account strategies and service customers while strengthening the image and distribution of Great Lakes Cheese products and brands.  Responsible for managing Foodservice key customer accounts, selling Foodservice accounts and managing projects while exceeding customer expectations.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain account base of large Foodservice broad line account.
• Identify and sell new FS accounts (Ex. Distributors, redistributors and group purchasing organizations).
• Increase sales through the placement of additional line items.
• Identify customer’s needs to drive new volume growth.
• Manage and train foodservice broker network nationally with Foodservice Director of GLC.
• Identify and generate new key customers, while increasing demand in existing accounts.
• Conduct new item presentations in a professional manner.
• Send out monthly price changes to customers.
• Responsible for fixing margin and sales issues within certain existing accounts as instructed by foodservice director.
• Project / forecast category sales and margin for annual budget plan.
• Communicate all relevant enhancements to promotions, programs, policies and procedures in a timely manner to the respective accounts.
• Accurate and prompt completion of all company reports, programs and account requests.
• Monitors food service sales activities and relates the information to the appropriate internal GLC team.
• Establish and maintain relationships with internal GLC department personnel.
• Be a role model in projecting and applying The Great Lakes Cheese (Quality, Customer Service, and Culture) and promote teamwork at all times.
• All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures.
• All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field, or 5 years relevant experience.
• 2 years sales experience with food service broad line distributors.
• 5 years in the Food Service industry with an emphasis on National Accounts or more.
• Strong presentation skills to include market, trend and commodity conditions.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to cooperate, coordinate, direct and inspire the productivity of others, and lead cross functional teams and key customers.
• Ability to make sound, independent decisions based on functional expertise and experience.
• Ability to administer a proactive management approach.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve beyond routine issues.
• Geographical mobility.
• Up to 50% of travel.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Master’s degree.
• In depth understanding of GLC product offerings, customer base and related issues.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in an office setting.
• Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35ºF to 100ºF; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
