Job Overview
The Cheese Make Food Safety and Quality Assurance Technician supports the overall Food Safety Plan through monitoring, record/product review and inspections.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct analytical and performance tests on raw materials, cheese, whey, and all by products; and effectively document and communicate results.
- Set-up, standardize and shutdown laboratory and quality related production equipment.
- Complete pre-operational and environmental swabbing, plating and interpretation.
- Perform and record daily monitoring and verification activities.
- Collect and test air and water samples. Prepare and ship samples as needed.
- Conduct routine data entry and filing of paper work.
- Review and sign off on CIP charts.
- All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures
- All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by plant FSQA leadership.

- The pay for this position is $23.15 - $24.15. All offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees and certifications, and internal equity. This range is specific to New York and may not be applicable to other locations.
Required Education and Experience
- High School Degree
- Knowledge/understanding of chemical and physical processes relating to cheese quality.
- Ability to complete tasks based on standard procedures.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work cross-functionally
- Basic Computer skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree in Food Science or related field
- SAP experience.
- HACCP Certification.
Working Conditions
• Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35ºF to 100ºF; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
• Work is performed in a lab setting.
• Hair nets, ear plugs/muffs, hardhats, and/or safety glasses may be required.
• Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.
• Work in a fast-paced production environment with average temperature of 60-80 degrees F.
