Job Overview
The Inventory Specialist performs all necessary system transactions to support movement of product using approved processes.
Job Responsibilities
• Work with procurement and production to balance inventories as needed.
• Receive packaging or finished goods in SAP (film, labels, boxes, STO's).
• Preform all necessary systems transactions to support the movement of finished or raw goods using approved process.
• Potentially work with production to clear the Cost of Goods Issued (COGI’s)
• Manage anticake inventories, including PO’s. or finished good inventory.
• Monitor the "days on hand" inventory.
• Perform all necessary system transactions to support the movement of product or packaging using approved processes.
• Responsible for regular scheduled continuous counts of all inventory
• Handle or assist with tagging issues.
• Alert procurement, plant personnel and transportation when needed.
• Create/convert reqs/PO’s/STO’s.
• Monitor virtual bins.
• Monitor age of product of FG, work with MDG to adjust safety stock to prevent FG from becoming too old to ship.
• Reject/monitor/return deficient packaging (RTV) or product.
• Order materials as needed.
• Monitor long-hold inventory if needed for role.
• Provide direction to others with regard to inventory / warehousing issues.
• Conduct End of Year (EOY) Physical Inventory with auditor on site.
• All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures.
• All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the Manager.
Required Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic understanding of shipping and receiving processes and related equipment.
- Ability to make sound decisions based on functional expertise and experience.
- Ability to make minor decisions based on standard practices.
- Basic Microsoft Office experience.
- Ability to work overtime as needed with little or no notice.
- Able to work in the US now or in the future without sponsorship.
Preferred Education and Experience
• SAP experience
• Inventory management background
• Associate’s degree.
