Job Overview
The HR Manager will partner with the management team at the Great Lakes Cheese - Adam's New York Plant to manage the overall HR Function; administer and respond to questions regarding company benefits, policies and procedures - in addition to leading the leadership development initiatives for all people leaders at the plant. The HR Manager will communicate effectively with management and employees, and represent the company in a positive/professional manner at all times.
Job Responsibilities
- Accurately maintain/update Human Resource Information System records (e.g. SAP, Kronos, Success Factors, E-Verify, etc.)
- Coordinate company functions, meetings and fundraisers.
- Consult with management / supervisors / employees on company issues.
- Communicate and educate employees at all levels on company’s culture, policies and practices.
- Review and track all disciplines to ensure correct step issued and consistency.
- Accept applications, perform interviews, provide recommendations and lead/deliver orientation prior to employee start date.
- Work with staffing agency to recruit employees - if needed.
- Sign off on weekly timecards through the timekeeping system.
- Maintain attendance tracking system and assist in administering discipline as appropriate.
- Order and distribute uniforms to employees.
- Process paperwork / documentation, such as FMLA, benefit enrollment forms, etc, completely and accurately.
- Review FMLA paperwork, communicate with corporate any ADA possible accommodations or if fitness for duty is necessary.
- Manage injured workers documentation; attend review of claims meetings and hearings.
- Assist and schedule employees for transitional work as needed.
- Serve in the capacity of employee-company liaison for issues relating to employment.
- Assist with compliance issues (e.g. OSHA logs, Ethical Sourcing Audits).
- Work with all departments in implementing HR programs and manage the processes, policies and procedures.
- Responsible for all documentation within employee files
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to review/update/have access to the compensation of employees in the organization.
- All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures.
- All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
- Coordinate leadership development opportunities/programs for supervisors and managers & partner with Plant Manager with annual succession planning.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
- The pay for this position is $84,800 to $110,300. All offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees and certifications, and internal equity. This range is specific to New York and may not be applicable to other locations.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years Human Resources experience.
- Must be legally authorized to work for a company in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Master’s Degree and/or certification in Human Resources or a related field.
- 5 or more years of Human Resources experience supporting a large manufacturing facility.
- Ability to make decisions based on standard practices.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and high levels of professionalism.
- HRIS experience (SAP SuccessFactors preferred).
