Job Overview

The Whey Packaging Operator is responsible for filling, weighing, sealing, palletizing and warehousing of 20 KG and 25 KG bags and 2000 LB bulk bags of whey powder.

Job Responsibilities

• Set up HMI to maintain proper weights of product and line efficiency. 
• Ensure the integrity of sealed bags. 
• Verification that correct process order and pallet tag is being used. 
• Check accuracy of scales. 
• Maintain accurate records of batch tracking system. 
• Utilize sanitary sampling techniques.
• Maintain general housekeeping of work area. 
• Continually observe product and report any defects to supervisor. 
• Clean and sanitize whey bagging equipment after production. 
• Correct palletizing of 20kg, 25kg, and 2000Ib bags for storage. 
• Transport finished pallets to warehouse using stand up lift
• Process pallet putaway using RFID unit. 
• Assist Dryer Operators and Warehouse personnel as needed.
• All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies & procedures.
• All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

The pay for this position is $23.70/hr - $24.35/hr.  All offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees and certifications, and internal equity. This range is specific to New York and may not be applicable to other locations.

Hours: 6:00AM-6:00PM

Required Education and Experience

• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and their related equipment.   
• Ability to make minor decisions based on standard practices.   
• Ability to read, prepare and comprehend production reports and charts.  
• Basic computer skills.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • SAP experience.

Working Conditions

• Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.
• Ability to frequently handle material from floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder and pushing/pulling/carrying.
• Product weight: up to 50 lbs.
• Repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment with average temperature of 50-60 degrees F.
