Job Overview

The HR Generalist will assist the HR Manager in the administration and strategic support of HR processes, procedures, and systems. The HR Generalist will provide as back-up for the HR Manager supporting a 24/7 operation. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead plant entry level and skilled hourly talent acquisition initiatives. 
  • Responsible for managing mid-level employee relations issues including but not limited to counseling, coaching, and corrective actions.
  • Manage FMLA information including: forms, approval progress, return to work dates, time card updates, etc. and serve as first point of contact. 
  • Responsible for benefit updates including communicating employer response and follow-up, system audits, etc.
  • Coordinate and facilitate a variety of employee meetings and engagement events.  
  • Assist with worker’s compensation investigations and collecting data. 
  • Assist HR Manager with facilitating new hire orientations. 
  • Responsible for New Hire Appraisal Monitoring including reviews and points. 
  • All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures.
  • All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
     

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution. 
  • Minimum of 2 years HR experience. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office. 
  • Must be legally authorized to work for a company in the U.S. without sponsorship. 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field.  
  • 3 or more years of HR Generalist experience in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Experience in hourly talent acquisition processes and strategy. 
  • HRIS experience (preferably SAP SuccessFactors, Kronos).  
  • Familiar with HR policies and procedures (employment law, FMLA, etc.) 
  • Ability to make sound, independent decisions based on management expertise and experience.    
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve. 

Working Conditions

• Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35ºF to 100ºF; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
• Work is performed in an office setting.
